Garrett Tubridy ran for election to Dublin City Council in 2009 in the Pembroke-Rathmines electoral ward. He approached me to take care of the design of his campaign, from flyers and posters to his website.
This was the first an enjoyable challenge – working within the confines of the political party’s own branding guidelines, while still trying to make Garrett’s website stand out from the crowd.
At the time political websites in Ireland hadn’t moved forward in a few years and this site, which debuted in 2008, garnered a lot of attention for doing simple things like Facebook integration and having a candidate blog.
Garrett was ultimately unsuccessful in his election bid.
