Mobile.

Designing for mobile applications is exciting because users interact with your design in such a tactile way.

Taxi!

I developed the GUI for Taxi! as a proof of concept-for-how such an app could work in Ireland.

The app itself would use the iPhone’s GPS to locate your position and send this information to the nearest participating taxi driver or company. Intermediary steps would allow for tweaking of your current address and access to saved pickup times.

As one of the usage cases for this app was “on a night out”, I kept all the input controls as close to the iPhone HIG standards as possible so the app would feel familiar when the user was “worse for wear”.

I have discussed putting this into production with the help of Factory6, but the opportunity to do so hasn’t arisen yet.

Like my work?

If that’s the case then send me a note and let me know. Or you could be particularly nice and tweet about a particular piece or recommend it on Facebook using those trendy social sharing buttons on each project’s page.

Perhaps you need something designed? Well I’m always on the lookout for new projects, so if you have one in mind I’d love to hear about it. Fill in your details on the notepad to the right and I’ll get back to you within two days.
